What the official deficiency says

(2) Faucets used by residents for personal care such as shaving and grooming shall deliver hot water. Hot water temperature controls shall be maintained to automatically regulate the temperature of hot water used by residents to attain a temperature of not less than 105 degree F (41 degrees C) and not more than 120 degree F (49 degrees C). This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in two restrooms the hot water measured over 120 degrees F which poses/posed a potential health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

(4) The licensee shall assist residents with self-administered medications as needed. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in one of five residents as they did not have one of their medications for 2 to 3 days due to not being refilled, and 3 of their other medications had discrepencies in the medication count they have more tablets than should have based on the start dates and qunatities documented on the CSMDR and MAR which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

§1569.312 Basic services requirements. Every facility required to be licensed under this chapter shall provide at least the following basic services: (a) Care and supervision as defined in Section 1569.2 This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on interviews and records reviewed, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. Licensee failed to provide adequate care and supervision to R1 which attributed to R1 sustaining pressure injuries not reported and not properly cared for, which posed an immediate health and safety risk to residents in care.

An immediate civil penalty of $500 is warranted in accordance with California Health and Safety Code Section 1548(c)(1).
