Overview
This Privacy Notice explains how SeniorLivingFacts.com collects, uses, and shares information when you use this website or contact us.
SeniorLivingFacts.com is operated by Nicolaus Inc., doing business as D2CEBL, a Florida corporation.
The conditions for using the website are described in our Terms.
Public records
SeniorLivingFacts.com displays and summarizes official senior living and long-term care licensing, inspection, and enforcement records published by state licensing agencies and other official public sources. Those records may include facility names, licensee names, license and facility numbers, publicly available addresses, capacity and licensing details, inspection and report dates, cited deficiencies, complaint and enforcement information, source links, and related licensing information, including names that the publishing agency itself made public in an official report.
Current coverage is Residential Care Facilities for the Elderly licensed in California. Available facility information, record types, historical depth, and document availability vary by source, jurisdiction, and care setting, and additional states and care settings may be added over time.
We use this information to help families and other researchers find and understand public records. Original official reports and licensing authority records should be treated as the controlling source.
More about source handling, classification, and public-record limitations is on the data and methodology page.
Information you provide
If you contact us through the website, we may collect the information you submit, such as your name, email address, an optional facility number, and your message. We use contact submissions to respond to you, review correction requests, investigate data issues, fix bugs, and improve the website.
Do not submit confidential information, resident health information, personal information about another individual, payment information, credentials, or anything you are not authorized to share.
Information collected automatically
Like many websites, SeniorLivingFacts.com and its service providers may collect technical and usage information automatically. This may include IP address, approximate location, browser type, device information, cookies or client identifiers, pages requested, referring pages, dates and times of visits, page URLs, submitted search terms, error logs, and performance information.
The website uses Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 for site measurement when the configured tag is enabled. Google explains how it uses information from sites and apps that use its services on its partner sites page and in the Google Privacy Policy.
Where custom measurement events are configured, they may include search terms and search context, search-result counts, facility selections and public facility identifiers, facility city, county, state, and type, official-report and source-document clicks, and contact-form start and submit events. Custom measurement events do not include contact-form field contents or raw official report text.
Third-party services
We use third-party services to operate the website, process contact forms, measure usage, and host the site. These services may process information under their own privacy policies and security practices.
Services used include Formspree for form submissions, Google Tag Manager and Google Analytics 4 for site measurement, and DigitalOcean for hosting. You can review the Formspree Privacy Policy, Google Privacy Policy, and DigitalOcean Privacy Policy for more information.
The website does not embed third-party reviews, maps, advertising networks, or social media widgets on facility pages.
How we use information
We may use information to:
- operate, maintain, secure, and troubleshoot the website;
- respond to contact messages, correction requests, and feedback;
- review public-record issues and improve the accuracy of displayed information;
- understand site traffic, usage patterns, and performance; and
- comply with legal obligations and protect the website from misuse.
How we share information
We may share information with service providers that help us run the website, such as hosting, form-processing, analytics, infrastructure, security, and support providers. We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect rights and safety, to investigate misuse, or as part of a business transfer involving the website.
We do not sell personal information for money. We do not accept payment from facilities, operators, or their representatives to change displayed records, remove public records, or influence how a record is summarized or classified.
Cookies and choices
The website and third-party services may use cookies or similar technologies for analytics, security, performance, and basic site operation. You can use your browser settings to block or delete cookies. Some browser settings may affect how websites work.
Google Analytics may set first-party analytics cookies such as _ga and use client identifiers to distinguish visits and sessions when analytics storage is enabled.
Google also offers a Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
Do Not Track and third-party tracking
SeniorLivingFacts.com does not currently change its behavior in response to browser Do Not Track signals. Third-party analytics and tag services may collect information about activity on this website over time and, depending on their settings, may receive or associate information from other websites or services. Browser controls, cookie settings, and third-party opt-out tools may limit some of this collection.
Automated tools and artificial intelligence
SeniorLivingFacts.com uses automated tools, specifically deterministic software rules, to organize, classify, summarize, and display information based on official licensing and inspection records.
No part of the published record is generated by artificial intelligence. The website does not call a large language model when a page loads, and no AI-generated text is displayed as a source fact. Facility counts, report counts, deficiency classifications, topic assignment, dates, sorting, and correction evidence are all produced by deterministic rules.
Contact-form submissions and visitor analytics are not used to generate, alter, or rank any displayed record.
Retention
We retain information for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described in this notice. Contact submissions may be retained to respond to and document correction requests. Technical and security logs may be retained for troubleshooting and protection. Analytics information is retained according to the configured analytics settings. Official public records and related source or audit material may be retained for historical accuracy and traceability. Third-party services may retain information under their own settings and policies.
When information is no longer needed, we may delete, anonymize, or aggregate it, subject to legal, security, recordkeeping, and operational requirements.
Residents and children
SeniorLivingFacts.com is intended for adults researching senior living and long-term care options. It is not directed to children. Do not use the website to send us personal information, health information, or care details about a resident, a family member, or any other individual.
Where an official report published by an agency names an individual, that information appears as the agency published it. We do not add personal information that the official source did not publish.
Security
We use reasonable safeguards designed to protect information handled through the website, but no website, network, or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
Privacy rights and requests
Depending on where you live and applicable law, you may have rights to request access to, correction or deletion of, or a copy of personal information about you. You may also have applicable rights concerning sale, sharing, targeted advertising, profiling, or sensitive information. We do not discriminate against people for exercising applicable privacy rights.
You can submit a privacy request through the contact page. We may need to verify your request and may retain information when permitted or required for legal, security, recordkeeping, or operational reasons.
Requests concerning displayed facility records are reviewed against official source records. A privacy request does not automatically require removal of accurate official public records.
Changes
We may update this Privacy Notice from time to time. We will post revisions on this page and update the date above. If a change materially affects how we collect, use, or share personal information, we may provide additional notice on the website.
