What the official deficiency says

87465 Incidental Medical and Dental Care (a) A plan for incidental medical and dental care shall be developed by each facility. The plan shall encourage routine medical and dental care and provide for assistance in obtaining such care, by compliance with the following: (1) The licensee shall arrange, or assist in arranging, for medical and dental care appropriate to the conditions and needs of residents. This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Licensee did not ensure that facility staff arranged for medical care for R1’s upper right arm injury, which poses an immediate health and safety risk to residents in care.

Official plan of correction

Licensee agrees to submit a plan of correction to the department by 11/01/2025 stating how the licensee will conduct in-service training with staff on arranging, or assisting in arranging, for medical and dental care appropriate to the conditions and needs of the residents. Once training is completed, the licensee shall submit training records to the department, including names of staff trained, training dates, training topics, and names and qualifications of trainers.

What the official deficiency says

87465 Incidental Medical and Dental Care. (a) ...shall encourage routine medical and dental care and provide for assistance in obtaining such care, by compliance with the following: (4) The licensee shall assist residents with self-administered medications as needed. This requirement was not met as evidenced by: Based on the interview and record reviewed, the facility staff were lack of supervision and resulted in resident R1 took resident R2's medications which poses/posed an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
