What the official deficiency says
(a) Except as specified in subsection (b), the licensee shall ensure that disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisonous substances, knives, matches, tools, sharp objects, and other similar items which could pose a danger to residents are in locked storage and are not left unattended if outside the locked storage. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above when disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and poisonous substances were left unattended and accessible to resident in care which poses a potential health, safety and personal rights risk to persons in care.
Official plan of correction
POC Due Date: 01/08/2026 Plan of Correction The unlocked laundry room and sliding glass doors were locked and the garage door lock was repaired while the LPA was at the facility. Administrators states they will conduct a staff training on this regulation and company polcies and procedures to ensure disinfectants, cleaning solutions, and poisonous substances are locked and inaccessible to residents in care. Training documents and signed staff roster will be emailed to LPA on or before 1/8/2025
