What the official deficiency says

87465 Incidental Medical and Dental Care (e) For every prescription and nonprescription PRN medication...there shall be a signed, dated written order from a physician... maintained in the residents file... This requirement has not been met as evidenced by: Based on record review, the licensee did not ensure that R1's file had a written doctor's order for R1's PRN pain medication after the doctor updated the prescription. This posed a potential health risk to 1 of 6 residents in care.

Administrator stated that staff will not follow doctor's verbal orders until the facility has a copy of the written doctors order for all medications or changes in dose and frequency. Administrator will provide in-service training for staff regarding medication administration and doctor's orders and provide the training sign in sheet to the Department by POC due date of 7/7/2025.

7615 Prohibited Health Conditions (a) Persons who require health services for or have a health condition including, but not limited to, those specified below shall not be admitted or retained in a residential care facility for the elderly: (2) Gastrostomy tubes. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on interview and record review, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in that R1 had a diagnosis of a gastronomy tube and had not requested an exception, which poses a potential health and safety risk to 1 of 6 residents in care.
