General Food Service Requirements All kitchen areas shall be kept clean and free of litter, rodents, vermin and insects. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on LPAs observations of opened food items and roaches in chester of drawers in room 6. This violation poses an potential health, and safety risk to residents in care.

What the official deficiency says
(e) Water supplies and plumbing fixtures shall be maintained as follows: (2) Faucets used by residents for personal care such as shaving and grooming shall deliver hot water. Hot water temperature controls shall be maintained to automatically regulate the temperature of hot water used by residents to attain a temperature of not less than 105 degree F (41 degrees C) and not more than 120 degree F (49 degrees C). This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on LPA observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in 87303(e)(2). LPAs observed hot water temperature measured at 135 degrees F. which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

87609 Allowable Health Conditions and the Use of Home Health Agencies:The licensee and home health agency agree in writing on the responsibilities of the home health agency, and those of the licensee in caring for the resident’s medical condition(s)...The written agreement shall reflect the services, frequency and duration of care. The written agreement shall be signed by the licensee or licensee representative, and representative of the home health agency, and placed in the resident’s file. This requirement was not met as evidence by: the facility did not have a copy of the home health agency and licensee written care responsibilities agreement. This posed a potential health and safety risk to residents in care.
