What the official deficiency says

87465 Incidental Medical and Dental Care. (a) … (4) The licensee shall assist residents with self-administered medications as needed. This requirement was not met as evidenced by Based on the review of the medications, the licensee did not ensure R1 received assistance with one medication, Spirinolactone, by not administering R1's prescribed medication per the doctor's order which poses a potential health risk to persons in care.

ED Coleman stated that medication staff will be retrained on ensuring residents receive their medications as prescribed and properly completing the Medication Administration Record and will submit proof to LPA by POC due date.

(a) The licensee shall ensure that personnel records are maintained on the licensee, administrator and each employee. Each personnel record shall contain the following information: (13) For employees that are required to be fingerprinted pursuant to Section 87355, Criminal Record Clearance: (B) Documentation of either a criminal record clearance or a criminal record exemption as required by Section 87355(e). This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on [(observation) (interview) (record review)], the licensee did not comply with the section cited above in not having a criminal record clearance on file for 4 staff members which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.
