(f) The following shall be stored inaccessible to residents with dementia: (1) Knives, matches, firearms, tools and other items that could constitute a danger to the resident(s). This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPA observed unsecured scissors in a kitchen drawer which poses an immediate health and safety risk to persons in care.

The following requirements shall apply: All food shall be protected against contamination. Contaminated food shall be discarded immediately upon discovery. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above. LPAs observed spoiled lettuce and broccoli as well as expired cheese and tofu which poses a potential health, and safety risk to persons in care.
