What the official deficiency says

(a) All individuals shall be residential care facility for the elderly certificate holders prior to being employed as an administrator. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on observation, the licensee did not comply with the section cited above as the Administrator certificate observed to be hung up on the wall was expired, and the CDSS website did not have any pedning applications for a renewed Administrator certificate which poses a potential saftey risk to persons in care.

87355 Criminal Record Clearance (e) All individuals subject to a criminal record review pursuant to Health and Safety Code Section 1569.17(b) shall prior to working, residing or volunteering in a licensed facility: (1) Obtain a California clearance or a criminal record exemption as required by the Department. This requirement was not met as evidenced by: One uncleared and unassociated individual was living in the facility. It is unclear exactly how long the individual was living at the facility, but it was confirmed the individual was living at Royal Palms Care Home.

The individual was removed from the facility after a personal situation and told they would not be allowed back. The individual left the facility and moved to another state. No further action is needed.
