What the official deficiency says

Food Services: (a) In facilities providing meals to clients, the following shall apply: (1)All food shall be safe and of the quality and in the quantity necessary to meet the need of the clients...All food shall be selected, stored, prepared and served in a safe and healthful manner. This requirement was not met, evidenced by, based on observations, LPA observed expired cans and non-perishable items stored in the facility kitchen cabinet and freezer. This poses a potential heath and safety risk to residents in care.
