What the official deficiency says

(a) Except as specified in subsection (b), the licensee shall ensure that disinfectants, cleaning solutions, poisonous substances, knives, matches, tools, sharp objects, and other similar items which could pose a danger to residents are in locked storage and are not left unattended if outside the locked storage. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Deficient Practice Statement Based on LPA's observation, the licensee failed to safely lock a pair of scissors which were in a first aid kit sitting on the counter, which poses an immediate health, safety or personal rights risk to persons in care.

What the official deficiency says

87470(c) Infection Control Requirements shall be developed by the licensee... (1) The Infection Control Plan shall include: (F) Staff shall demonstrate knowledge... appropriate to the job assigned and... This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on an interview with the Administrator, the licensee/administrator stated that during a previous visit conducted by the credible witness, staff did not comply with the section cited above by not wearing masks nor screening for covid-19 which poses a potential Health and Safety and personal rights risk to persons in care.

Licensee/Administrator agreed to provide in house training with all staff regarding Infection Control Requirements and COVID Protocol. A written statement signed by all staff regarding such training shall be emailed to LPA no later than 10/03/22.
