What the official deficiency says

87465 Incidental Medical and Dental Care (c) ...facility staff designated by the licensee shall be permitted to assist the resident with self-administration, provided all of the following requirements are met:(2)...the medication is given according to the physician's directions. This requirement is not met as evidenced by: Based on observation, records review, and interview, the licensee failed to administer R1's medication as prescribed by physician. Melatonin of 3mg was prescribed, but R1 was being administered Melatonin of 5mg, which poses an immediate Health, Safety, or Personal Rights risk to persons in care.
